HOW DOES SOUND WORK?
SONGWRITING, COMPOSITION AND HARMONIES

Even before the start of the classical lessons, you can start with your one-on-one lessons evolving around:
- Your DAW
- Genre-specific workflow
- Compression & EQ
The topics above are often picked by new Full Course advanced students. These lessons are however highly customizable and are designed to help you with short term challenges such as basic knowledge of EQ’ing and compression and other mixing techniques. As you are expected to fully know your DAW starting Full Course advanced, it is often also recommended in the first teacher appointment to choose that as one of the topics. Also popular among starting Full Course advanced students: taking the Full Course Beginners deal with a free Ableton license and using the two (instead of four) private lessons to make the transition to Ableton with help of our Ableton Certified Trainer.
OVERVIEW
Start strong with masterclasses that go beyond the basics. Learn directly from top-tier artists and professionals on topics like:
· Ableton Live 12 workflow
· Songwriting and collaborations
· How to get DJ gigs
Work hands-on with your DAW, explore songwriting and AI tools with an international top producer, and join DJ-focused panels in collaboration with Pioneer DJ. After each session, share your work in track feedback circles.

If you have specific scheduling needs due to work or study commitments, let us know. We’ll do our best to match you with a class time that fits your weekly rhythm.
STUDY LOAD
We recommend dedicating 8 to 12 hours per week to your growth — this includes both creative production and working on course assignments. We understand it can be challenging to balance this with other responsibilities, which is why we provide Time Management Workshops during MPA Connect to help you stay on track and build consistent creative habits.
TEACHER APPOINTMENTS
Want help designing your ideal course trajectory? You can book a personal appointment with one of our teachers at any time throughout the year.
During this 1-on-1 meeting, we’ll discuss your ambitions, evaluate your level, and map out your path — including your customized set of private lessons.
Book your appointment and experience our personalized approach to music education.
START DATES
The Full Course starts twice per year. Registration must be completed at least two weeks prior to the official start date.
Late registrations may still be accepted in exceptional cases, but we cannot guarantee availability due to the popularity of each class. Secure your spot on time and avoid disappointment — group sizes are limited to ensure quality and personal attention.
FORMAL INFORMATION
MPA is an officially Ableton Certified and Steinberg Certified training institute, and is also CRKBO-accredited. This means we meet quality and ethical standards for education and are exempt from VAT for private individuals in the Netherlands.
You can find more information about our general terms and registration conditions here.
MISSED CLASSES
We understand that life happens. If you notify us in advance, you can always join the same class with a different group, as we run multiple classes in parallel.
Additionally, every student is entitled to one free catch-up lesson per year, which will be scheduled as a private session with your teacher.
STUDIO ACCESS
Full Course students receive free studio access 7 days a week throughout the academic year.
We’re open Monday through Thursday from 10:00 to 22:00, and during the day on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (closed on weekend evenings).
Tip: Book your session in the morning, afternoon, or on weekends to secure your preferred slot. You can request studio time via WhatsApp, and if your requested slot is not available, we’ll always offer you alternatives.
FUNDING OPTIONS FOR ENTREPRENEURS
Are you self-employed or starting your own business? You may be eligible for training subsidies through NRTO-recognized programs.
Visit NRTO.nl to find out how the Full Course may be (partially) funded for entrepreneurs.
HOLIDAYS AND BREAKS
We organize holiday breaks in collaboration with your teacher and classmates. As a general guideline, there is always a summer break and a winter break around Christmas.
All other breaks are discussed and agreed upon as a group — one of the benefits of working within a fixed class with consistent energy and shared planning.
GRADUATION CEREMONY
Once a year, we host an official graduation ceremony for all Full Course students — and it’s a celebration to remember.
You’ll share your final project (live or as a DJ set), receive your diploma, and look back together on all the memories and progress made. Photos, music, and connection — this is where it all comes together.
FULL COURSE YEAR 2
After completing Full Course Year 1, you can immediately continue or take a break before joining Full Course Year 2.
This is a separate, follow-up program designed to help you turn creativity into income and build your presence in the music industry.
Want to know more? Join one of our info evenings or book a personal appointment to explore your options.
