The founder of Music Production Academy. Michael’s idea of establishing a unique educational platform and music production centre began in 2012. At that time he was combining his study in marketing communication with music production. Michaël, a self-taught guitar player, began making his own tracks when still a teenager.
His music evolved from just vocals and guitar to atmospheric electronic productions, in time developing his characteristic style. Now he combines running MPA with making music at the jam sessions and working towards his own first official releases.

marijn / course instructor & studio manager
With dreads that show both patience and a lifestyle, our studio manager had decided a long time ago that he wanted to become one of the world’s best audio engineers. Now he is passing on that knowledge to our students in the MPA Full Course. As an audio engineer student, Marijn graduated with honors after which he had an internship at Galaxy Studios in Belgium. Besides his passion for the DAW Logic, Marijn has a great love for the reggae culture, his dreads and favourite form of transportation: his longboard.

beau zwart / dj & music production instructor
After playing classical piano in his younger years, Beau decided he would rather be Beau Zwart than Mozart. This resulted in weekly appearances as a DJ in clubs in Rotterdam. Beau works as DJ Instructor at MPA and also teaches private lessons in Ableton, Logic, and in creating live sets. He is also a regular host at the MPA jam sessions and gives several master classes per year, He then not only discusses over his productions with students, but also produces tracks on the spot.

sjoerd huissoon / full course instructor
Starting at MPA as the teacher of the Producer Clinics, Sjoerd is now one of the Full Course instructors. As an artist, Sjoerd has released music on labels such as Armada, Monstercat and Heroic, and played on stages such as Dance Valley, Escape (Amsterdam), Air (Amsterdam), and Paard van Troje (The Hague). He has become one of the elite students at the Music Production course at the Dutch Academy for Music in Rotterdam. Currently Sjoerd is making music as one half of the duo ‘Amy Root’, which has released the EP ‘Lynn’ in 2018 and immediately got gigs at ADE and 3voor12 and a signing with Earth Agency. Besides continuously working on his own music, his goal at MPA is to pass on his knowledge how to get the best results in producing electronic music.

Ramon Robbemont / hardstyle course instructor
Ramon started producing different electronic musical styles at twelve years old, but eventually fell in love with the hardcore kick drums. His goal is to travel around the world with his music and share the hardcore sound with everyone. Now he has released over 30 tracks at Offensive Records and performed in Germany, Belgium, Holland, Moscow, Switzerland and at Harmony of Hardcore. Ramon made remixes for amongst others Paul Elstak, Furyan & Rotterdam Terror Corps and had collaborations with Rob GEE, The Playah, Paul Elstak and many more. He made the anthem for Nightmare together with Paul Elstak, The Unfamous and MC Ruffian. His music is played at almost all festivals by several big dj’s. Recently he also performs as Never Surrender and graced the stage of Masters of Hardcore. In addition to his artist career, Ramon was looking for a way to pass on his passion and knowledge. A short search that led him to be our main Hardstyle Course teacher.

Rob / Private Lessons & hip hop course instructor
The latest addition to the MPA team is goes by the artist name of ReauBeau. Rob his career has been gone not one, but several levels higher. He worked with artists like Julian Calor, Dyro, Dirtcaps, Heuse and had his tracks remixed by Tiësto and Snavs. In between his sessions at Wisseloord and performing at festivals like Tomorrowland, Also making moves in the Hollywood scene, he produced music for an oscar winning film. Rob Jager was already an MPA Ambassador with providing masterclasses & hosting Writing Sessions at MPA. Since last year,Starting spring 2018, MPA and Rob take the logical next step in collaborating by facilitating Private Lessons together and as our Hip Hop Course instructor.
tim alkemade / full course & producer clinics instructor
Tim is a Rotterdam based producer/DJ specialized in producing Trap, Future Bass and Hip-Hop music. Under the artist name Dread Pitt, he has received support from influencers such as NoCopyrightSounds, Trap City, Tribal Trap, and Trap & Bass. On stage, Tim has been seen in clubs such as Melkweg Amsterdam, Factory010, Annabel and at festivals such as Mysteryland and Nameless. He is constantly working on perfecting his knowledge and skills in sound. Knowledge that he now transfers to students of the MPA Producer Clinics in FL Studio.

richard in 't veld / full course & maschine course instructor
Long time DJ and producer Richard in ‘t Veld is known for various styles, symbolizing his experience in producing music. One of his specialties is definitely teaching, which he does at MPA in the Maschine Course. In both his musical journey as in teaching, the development of an own style and thinking in possibilities has always Richard’s trademark. It has releases on various labels and under several artist names. With Near Earth Object being the latest alter ego, Richard also teaches the Full Course and he helps students with private classes in Maschine.
