SAMA Master Class
SAMA is a DJ and producer from Utrecht, The Netherlands.In the past, he had released tracks and EPs on several well–respected labels in the more commercial peak–time side of techno, such as Drumcode, Kraftek, and Noir.When COVID–19 puts everything in a bigcoma, though, he started to realize that he wanted to experiment and grow into a new sound and approach. After two years of mandatoryisolation, the first release on his new imprint Maximalist_Minimalist is finally scheduled for May 2022. SAMA’s goal with the imprint is to create a piece of artwith every release. To let the music and the visual art create something that reallygrabs the attention. His music still has some obvious SAMA–esque sounds and arrangements,accompanied by an almost signature big–room vibe that, however hard he tries, he can’t seem to shake off. With that said, it entails a darker, more metallic and grittier soundwith an almost always present sense of urgency to it, while still keeping a big focus on a dark, driving groove. SAMA’s tracks are riddled with small intrigues, a heavy onefocus on sound design and an infinitely perfectionist mindset; a Maximalist approach to a Minimalist sound, if you will.SAMA has already had the honor of playing high-profile events like The WarehouseProject, Free Your Mind, Loveland Festival and his sets have been heard in many differentclubs around Europe. 2022 seems to only add more names to his list of well-respected venues and events, with his debut at Awakenings Festival among others.
On October 10, 2023, SAMA will bring its assets to MPA for a one-time masterclass filled with information and pro experience.
